27. In the Nave, above the entrance, facing St. George Street. "Dove"

A large circular rose window with the descending dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The tracery around the edges and the converging lines draw the eye to the center where the white dove is clearly seen superimposed on the cross.

This is a copy of a window over the high altar in St. Peter's in Rome. It was given as a thank offering by Dr. J. Ewing Mears and installed in May, 1904.

"And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a Dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, 'Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.'" (Luke 3:22)
